Week 3 of our #52weekchallenge is to wake up earlier.
Do you ever get the winter blues or wake up after a night of sleep and still feel groggy? Some of this is just prioritizing sleep, if you can, and then making sure you getting the amount of hours your body requires. Everyone is different on how many hours of sleep their body requires to have that “refreshed” feeling upon waking. For some people it could be 6 hours or others it may be 8 or even 10 hours of sleep. That is up for you to decide and figure out.
So after you find your “perfect” amount of sleep then plan on waking up 30 minutes earlier this week. (We don’t want you to turn into a zombie so that is why we want you to make sure you are getting enough sleep first.) For one week schedule yourself getting up 30 minutes earlier with your alarm clock. Why would we even suggest this? This sounds awful right?
Is there ever a part of the day or week where you feel like you are behind? It could be at work, at home with meal prep or laundry or the most common is in traffic with needed more time. If you would have just had more time then you may have not felt this way. Feeling that uncomfortable, draining feeling of being behind schedule is stressful. Do you remember the old-fashioned saying of “the early bird gets the worm”? Well they were right! We are hoping that by adjusting our schedules that we will see what an extra 30 minutes could bring to our day. Would it be beneficial? Will we feel more productive? Will I find solace in sitting down and having a cup of coffee and enjoy a quick morning scroll through Facebook? We think the answer is a resounding yes! So wake up earlier and see if it makes a difference in your day.
Share your stories here of how your week changed by challenging yourself and waking up 30 minutes earlier each day.
