This Privacy Policy was last updated on April 1, 2011.

Helix collects personally identifiable information only when it is specifically and voluntarily provided by visitors to the Site, typically when a visitor inquires for further information, requests materials or submits a resume. Personally identifiable information may include data such as names, addresses, telephone and fax numbers and, if visitors send e-mails to Helix through the Site, usernames, e-mail addresses and any additional information included in the message. It is our policy to try to limit the information we collect to the minimum required to complete a visitor’s request. We make every practical effort to avoid excessive or irrelevant collection of data. If you believe we have collected excessive information through the Site, please contact us at privacy@helixbiomedix.com to discuss your concerns.

We do not intend to seek any sensitive information through the Site unless legally required. Sensitive information includes various kinds of data relating to race or national or ethnic origin, political opinion, religious or similar beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health or disability, sexual orientation or criminal record. We suggest that you do not provide sensitive information of this nature. If you do wish to provide sensitive information for any reason, Helix accepts your explicit consent to use that information in the ways described in this Privacy Policy.

Visitors are not required to register to gain access to the Site. In the future, we may require visitors to register in order to obtain a user ID and password for authentication and secure access to certain investor information or confidential or proprietary information services.

Should visitors subsequently choose to unsubscribe from mailing lists or any registrations, we will provide instructions in the appropriate area of the Site. Alternatively, a visitor may contact our webmaster.

Use of Data

A user may choose to provide personally identifiable information to Helix for a variety of reasons, including the following: contacting us for further information or to request materials; registering for events and conferences; or registering to join our mailing list.

We use personally identifiable information we obtain through the Site only for the intended purpose stated at the time that the information is collected. Except with your permission and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, we do not share personally identifiable information with any other nonaffiliated company.

Cookies, Log Files and Other Technology

We may use small text files called “cookies” on some pages of the Site to assist us in providing you with a more customized Site experience. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer. We may use cookies to alert us that a computer has previously accessed the Site, in order to bypass our introductory graphics sequence. A cookie could also be used to store registration information in an area of the Site so that a user does not need to re-enter it on subsequent visits to that area. The use of cookies is now standard operating procedure for most Websites. If you are concerned about cookies, however, most browsers permit individuals to decline to accept cookies. In most cases, a visitor may refuse a cookie and still fully navigate the Site.

In order to properly manage the Site, we may anonymously log information on our operational system and identify categories of visitors by data type, such as domains and browser types, or collect nonpersonal information about your web viewing habits while you navigate the Site, such as navigation trends, hits per page/per user and time allocation. These statistics are reported in the aggregate to our webmasters. This is to ensure that the Site presents the best web experience for visitors and remains an effective information resource.

We may use other technology, such as pixel tags and web beacons, to track use of our Site. We may also include web beacons in email messages, newsletters, or other communications to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. We may receive an anonymous identification number if you come to our Site from an online advertisement displayed on a third party Website. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize the services we offer our visitors to our Site, to deliver targeted advertisements, and to measure the usage and effectiveness of our Site and our online advertising and other content and activities.

We reserve the right to change our use of cookies, log files or other technology without prior notification.

Third Parties

It is our policy to only disclose information to third parties under the following circumstances: as required by law, such as a subpoena, search warrant or other legal process; when explicitly requested by a visitor; when required to deliver materials requested by a visitor; when required to facilitate conferences or events hosted by a third party for which a visitor has registered on the Site; or to service providers or suppliers if the disclosure will enable that party to perform business, professional or technical support for us.

We may share general information about our customers with advertisers or marketing partners. The userÕs identity will not be released during this process.
Except for a major transaction as described below, we will not sell or rent the personally identifiable information you provide to us to any third party without first obtaining your consent.

Major Transactions

The personally identifiable information you provide to us is an asset of Helix. If Helix or a substantial part of our business is sold or otherwise transferred to a third party, your personally identifiable information may be transferred as well. We will notify you of any transfer of your personally identifiable information in connection with such a major transaction.

Third Party Links

For your convenience, the Site contains hypertext links to Websites of other companies (“Hyperlinked Sites”). Hyperlinked Sites do not operate under our privacy practices, and when you go to Hyperlinked Sites, our privacy practices no longer apply. We encourage visitors to review each site’s privacy policy before disclosing any personally identifiable information.
We do use third parties to store some of your personally identifiable information during the process of a sale. Only Helix will have the right to access that information that is stored there.

Data Retention

We retain all of the information we receive when making a purchase. This may include name, address, phone numbers, email address and credit card information. Contact information for visitors (such as information generated though registration for access to areas on the Site) will be kept as long as the information is required to completely service the contact request or until a user requests that we delete that information, whichever comes first. Mailing list information and emails will be kept for only the period of time considered reasonable to facilitate the visitor’s requests. Resumes are disposed of when they are either no longer under consideration or are considered out-of-date by our Human Resources department.

Web Site Use Information

Similar to other commercial Web sites, our Web site utilizes a standard technology called “cookies” and Web server logs to collect information about how our Web site is used. Information gathered through cookies and Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our Web site, and the Web sites visited just before and just after our Web site. We, our advertisers and ad serving companies may also use small pieces of code called “web beacons” or “clear gif” to determine which advertisements and promotions users have seen and how users responded to them.

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to your website. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this sites and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the advertising opt-out page.

Third party vendors, including Twitter, collect user data through their application for purposes of conversion tracking and serving ads targeted to users’ interests. Twitter’s policy allows users to opt out of some of those third parties’ interest-based advertising through the Do Not Track functionality in their web browser or through such other methods that Twitter may specify from time to time here.

Access

Each visitor has the right of access to personally identifiable information they have submitted to Helix through the Site. Inquiries about the accuracy of personally identifiable information previously submitted to Helix through the Site, or requests to have personally identifiable information removed from our records, should be directed to webmaster@helixbiomedix.com. When personally identifiable information is submitted and retained, Helix assumes responsibility for keeping an accurate record of the information once a visitor has verified the data. We do not assume responsibility for verifying the ongoing accuracy of the content of personally identifiable information. When practically possible, if we are informed that any personally identifiable information collected through the Site is no longer accurate, we will make appropriate corrections based on the updated information provided by the authenticated visitor.

Newsletters

We will use email addresses to send out information in the form of a newsletter to all that subscribe to our list. In order to unsubscribe to newsletters and other information being sent by email, please click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

Security

We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. You should be aware, however, that no transmission over the Internet, and no electronic data storage method, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of the information you provide to us either during its transmission or its storage on the servers we use for this Site.

Minors Under the Age of 13

This Site is not designed or intended for children under the age of 13. We will not accept orders for minors we know to be under the age of 13.
